Ingredients:
- 1 lb pork belly, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or low-carb sweetener
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
- 1 green onion, finely chopped for garnish
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey or sweetener, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade
Add the pork belly pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated
Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes longer for more flavor, refrigerated
Preheat the air fryer to 375F 190C
Place the marinated pork belly pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded
Air fry for 15-18 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through, until the pork belly is crispy and cooked through
Once done, remove the pork belly bites from the air fryer, place them on a serving plate, and garnish with chopped green onions
Serve the sweet and spicy pork belly bites as a delightful appetizer or snack
